Once you've gone through the hard work of creating your Taxonomy, you can begin applying it to assets in your archive. You can apply it on an individual basis or to large sections with common tags. If you apply the taxonomy to the wrong assets, you can always remove it

Apply Taxonomy (Individual)

  1. Click on the asset
  2. Go to the Taxonomy tab
  3. Click on the checkbox(es) next to the term(s) you want to apply
  4. Click Save

Apply Taxonomy (Bulk)

  1. Select the assets
  2. Click on More Actions in the toolbar at the top of the viewing pane
  3. Click Apply Taxonomy in the dropdown menu or press Shift + T
  4. Click the checkbox(es) next to the term(s) you want to apply
  5. Click Apply to save your changes

When you select assets for bulk applications, you may notice small numbers to the right of the taxonomy tags. These indicate the number of selected assets currently carrying these taxonomy terms. In this case, I had selected two photos of Europe and discovered that they were already correctly labeled. This is a useful way to quickly check your work or note the existing taxonomy tags before adding more.
