Vault enables you to set visibility and download permissions on individual assets. To set the permissions on assets, watch the tutorial or follow the instructions below.
Individual Assets
- Click the asset
- Navigate to the permissions tab on the right side of the preview
- Check the boxes next to the user categories you want to view and/or download the asset
- Click Save
Bulk Assets
- Select your assets using select all or pressing shift and dragging your cursor across the desired assets
- Go to More Actions at the top of the viewing pane
- Click Modify Permission Levels or press Shift + A
- Check the boxes next to the user categories you want to view and/or download the asset
- Click Apply
You should notice little gray counters next to the permissions to view and download in the editing modal. These indicate the number of selected assets carrying the current permissions. This is a useful way for you to see what the assets share in common and what still needs to be changed.
Pro Tip: If you do not see the gray counters, de-select the desired checkboxes and then re-check them before hitting "Apply." This will ensure that the system is reflecting the desired permissions.
As you can see in this example, all of the assets I've selected have viewing permissions, but none of them have download permissions.
Please note that permissions for assets in License groups cannot be changed at the asset level. You will notice a gray forbidden icon appear if you attempt to make these changes.
If you have an asset or group of assets that need custom permissions, you’ll need to first remove them from the License Group or edit the License Group Permissions.
