A Collection's thumbnail or cover is the first impression users have of its contents. If the cover is no longer up to date or just isn't the most attractive photo in the Collection, you can change it by following these steps.
Set an Asset as Collection Cover
- Click the name of the Collection or Sub-Collection
- Locate the new thumbnail
- Click on it to enter Asset Detail View
- Click the checkmark in the upper right corner labeled "Set as Collection Cover"
- Watch for the green "Done!" notification in the lower right corner
Please note that creating an empty Collection with no Sub-Collections, assets restricted from most users, or a collection with PDFs/audio files/other assets that do not generate photographs will result in a Collection that looks like the image below. To solve this, simply add an attractive asset to serve as the thumbnail or "cover" image.
If your cover image is restricted from some user groups that can otherwise view the Collection, they will see the gray placeholder image. As a best practice, we recommend selecting a cover image that is not only attractive but also available to all users so that the browsing experience remains consistent across groups.
