If your taxonomy is particularly large or you are curious about where to find a certain term, you can search within the taxonomy itself instead of guessing. Follow the steps below to get started!

Pro tip: You can enter partial terms, such as "park" for "national park."

Search Within the Taxonomy

  1. Click the taxonomy icon, located in the upper left of the page.
  2. Click the search bar on the right of the taxonomy.
  3. Enter your term
  4. Press enter
  5. The taxonomy will shrink to show you relevant matches.

For example, I am looking for any tags containing the word "historic" in the taxonomy. Here is the taxonomy as a whole, with all three parent categories collapsed:

I could open each parent category until I found what I was looking for by clicking the triangle icons on the left side of the parent terms to expand them:

Or I could simply click the search bar and enter my search term there. I would then see that there is one applicable tag, "Historic Sites."
